Military Mission...

Military is making a big comeback this season. I'd say there's an element of military uniform on the catwalks each season, (who remembers that ammaaaaazing Balmain collection from SS/10, it is probably one of my most favourite catwalk collections EVER) however, this year it seems a lot more grown up, tailored and luxurious.

Military is an easy trend to take on, as you can just dip into it with accents of khaki, olive and camel colours in your wardrobe, or you can really embrace it and adopt the whole uniform look with utility jackets, belted macs and shirt dresses.

Large pockets and big hardware buttons are a must in this trend.

I bought this military inspired dress from Topshop recently, and wore it last weekend with a black and gold leather belt, chunky black boots, and layers of gold jewellery.

Although the dress is quite plain, I like the little details on it such as the turned up sleeves, and the pocket on the front. I also think for the price of £40 it is good value, as it will see me from now right through to summer when I plan to wear it with tan accessories.

Lots of big buttons, oversized pockets, khaki/nude colour palettes, structured garments, and big belts on the SS/15 Catwalks.

That amazing Balmain collection. SS/10.

Fabulous Street Style spotted by Warehouse at LFW last month.

Warehouse have taken on the military movement, and have lots of Uniform inspired pieces in store at the moment. Shop here:

Net-a-porter have lots of luxury designer 'utility' inspired items that have hit down on the website this week. These are all way out of my price range, but its nice to window shop and see where the high street take their inspirations from! Shop here:

River Island have adapted the trend and added jungle prints to the mix.
